particularly in West and South Darfur,
has deteriorated since the Darfur Peace Agreement
was signed on May 5, 2006. Certain groups have
expressed dismay at being unrepresented by the
agreement and potentially put at risk. Humanitarian
workers and internally displaced people in Geneina,
Zalingie, Garsilla and Mukjar witness and endure
violent and deadly protests, ambushes and mistrust

tsunami, IMC works with surfers to start rescue
program in Lhok
Nga
Yudi has been taking on the waves of Lhok Nga in Indonesia since he was ten years
old. “Lhok
Nga was an extremely different place then, compared to now,” says Yudi,
now 24 years old. Until a year ago, the beach was a secret "untouchable" location
that was a paradise for dedicated foreign surfers in search of exotic and undiscovered

transforms maternal-child healthcare in Bamiyan
Province
In January 2002, International Medical
Corps started a community-based primary health
care program in Bamiyan Province, Afghanistan
with a focus on mother-child health care.
More than four years later, 82 health posts
have been created and almost 200 locals have

beauty school, helping people from families facing severe economic hardship become
